    Hello,

So my "new" E6410 is having some screen flickering/electricity buzzing issue on all four sides of the screen. (Most noticeable on the side anyways)

This happens when the screen is turned on but within a few mins, it completely disappears. Even if the screen is turned off for like 2 seconds for power savings, when I move the mouse and turn it back on, the issue prevails. The cable connection is good, latest driver, latest bios, you get the idea. It is Samsung WXGA panel that I "think" is LED. It's a different panel than the LCD that came with the E6400 anyway.

Is this just a casual warming up issue? I know some complex screens require warming up like the huge IPS screens. Can I just ignore this or is this unnatural?

Thanks for the reply in advance.

I had a stand alone Dell Monitor that does this. I haven't been able to figure it out, over time the period it took to go from turning on to clear picture got longer.

I read in many places that E6410 has worse screen than the E6400. Wondering if this is true..

I do recall seeing some flickering on my system, but never any buzzing. I think it has to do with the discrete GPU, but I never looked into it because I usually have the laptop docked with an external monitor.

I've got the AUO WXGA+ panel (DP/N CCXMW, which replaced the original part #, DV5J1) in my E6410, and it's pretty good in terms of color (just needs a bit of gamma adjustment), so I always specifically request that part if I need to replace any screens (that's why I know the part #'s off the top of my head...).

I've seen many LG and Samsung panels in different systems, and they have always had pretty nasty tints (Samsung panels are usually more blue or purple). I don't think I've ever seen a Samsung panel with good colors, and the AMOLED screen that they use in their phones is horrendous...I guess I'm spoiled by my IPS UltraSharp 2209WA.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah once the warranty transfers, I guess I will give them a call. I'm sure they heard of the issue among all others for the model.

I'm spoiled too with my IPS U3011. Man the colors are nice.

So I thought the new cable will fix the problem. It is only worse. Much worse when I have screen on for a LONG time, let it turn off, and when it comes back on, it is like earthquake with 9.5 magnitude. Please help what I can do..

Did you only replace the cable? You should have replaced the cable, LCD, and motherboard (depending on your warranty type, they might not give you these as parts-only, so you might need to have a technician do it NBD).
