    Thanks for the info. Seems I'll have to wait a little longer to jump on those.

    US outlet? Models with SSD on board account for less then 10% inventory there.

    2,5 or 3,5" usb/fw/esata (with an accent on the latter) will do better then the 1,8".

    hi,

    just got my e6400 three days ago... really nice machine!

    it ll be for office use but also photo editing, organizing etc...

    could i please have your input if i am completely off with
    some of my thinking in the following:

    for the very best performance i am considering putting a 1.8 SSD into the hard drive bay adapter - an SSD with just windows and programs partitions on (E)SATA should be blazingly fast (mainly reads) .

    all win / photoshop etc. temp file locations would then be placed on a 500GB 2.5 drive in the primary bay - which would concentrate random writes on a normal disk (where SSD lacks).

    if i needed the dvd writer i would use it in the separate esata (external) bay - just like backup drives.

    does that sound reasonable or did i overlook sth?
