I just installed vista ultimate on my e6400 overwriting the factory xp install. After installing all of the drivers, I had a few issues. Namely, the TPM kept turning off, and it would disable my fingerprint reader. Then my fingerprint wouldn't read. I downloaded the latest Dell Security Manager drivers from the dell support site, and after running it, my computer is now in an endless loop.

It starts up, my fingerprint reader works, logs in, goes to my desktop with taskbar, then runs a task scheduler event immediately shutting off my computer. I was able to click cancel once, but after shutting down, it continues in this loop. I don't know how to navigate the task scheduler to stop the event, because I don't even know the name of it.

I don't have the fingerprint reader and I haven't used the security features on my e6400 so I don't know if I have that problem but I do have a problem with the touchpad drivers.

The touchpad drivers seem to cause the spinning blue part of the vista busy cursor to stop spinning.

Well, my Vista install's LCD screen brightness controls are FUBAR'ed so it is constantly resetting the screen brightness. Even though I choose to turn off the Ambient Light Sensor I know that it is still on and not following my wishes.

I didn't seem to have this issue with XP, but I'll have to examine further.

Pffff I'm glad I ordered with XP preinstalled  ...

Seriously I'm thinking about ditching my Vista on my desktop... So many drivers not working :(.
