I'm weighing my options for multi-screen setup for my new E6400. The two obvious set-ups are:
    1. Laptop screen + monitor through VGA or DisplayPort. Less $
    2. Dock + 2 monitors through VGA & DVI, or DVI & DisplayPort or DVI & DVI (depending on dock) more $$$

Is there a possible way of setting up two-monitors through the laptop without a dock by going through the VGA & DisplayPort that are already there?
What is the maximum output resolution on the VGA port?

I'm running NVIDIA Quadro NVS 160M.

    Thanks ahead!

Display port is backward compatible to HDMI and DVI. You don't need the dock (just a basic adapter). As for the second monitor you can use the laptop screen or VGA based screen.

VGA max resolution is with the Nvidia video card for desktop (I don't know about the laptop... but it's the G92 chip... so I don't see why not.) is 2560x2048 (non wide screen) or 2560x1600 (wide screen)

As you can see this is way above 1080p HD, this is like extreme HD (as it could be marketed as).

so whats the maximum resolution for external LCD display on E6400?
I understand GoodBytes was talking about the Nvidia video card for desktop. How about on laptop output to external LCD? by DVI, HDMI or directly display port connect.
