When you received your Dell E6400, did you do a fresh install of the OS or did you just remove any minimal bloatware. (Xp and Vista)
i ask because my M1330 last year came with alot of crap, so i did a fresh OS installation.
Knowing this ahead of time will help me decide if i can just clone the OEM drive to an aftermarket 500GB 7.2K drive.
    Thanks

While there didn't seem to be much software preinstalled on my M4400 when I got it back in last december, I found it to be a bit more performant after I did a fresh install about two weeks later. That still was with my old harddisk (see signature).

I would keep to the factory installation. Among other benefits, it includes the drivers for the different SATA modes so no BSOD if you change the setting in the BIOS.

If Dell Connection Manager and Security Manager are installed but you don't use them then you can uninstall them, but that's the nearest you get to bloatware on a Latitude.

Yup, basically reassuring that the Dell E6400 comes with basically no bloatware.
