Just so that all of you know, the E6400 (and probably the E4300 and E6500 too) can output dual 1920x1200 on external monitors using even the E/Port Docking Station. I have the Intel 4500MHD graphics card, so at least we know that one is capable of dual external monitors!

You do NOT need the E/Port Plus to support two external monitors.

    Pic!

I used DVI for the monitor on the left, and DisplayPort for the monitor to the right.

I am interested in doing the same, how did you accomplish this? I am now connecting one external display via the VGA port. How would I connect the second display?

Can you connect the 2 displays and also have your E6400 display running?

    Thanks.

1 on VGA and the other on DisplayPort (if he doens't have a monitor using that port, he probably use a converter to HDMI or DVI)

    The 4500HD is like a Geforce 7300.
The Nvidia Quadro option should be comparable to the Geforce 8400M GT or 9300M GS (depends what you do))

    Greg,

Is the dual display that can be done with the E6400 and e-port plus true independent display or just stretched or cloned mode. I have a matrox card (made for financial multi-display)in a desktop now and it does a great job at true independent display. I would like to convert to a laptop with multi-display capabilities.

    Thanks for your help.

If you look at the picture carefully (hint: start bar is only on one screen), you'll see they are independent displays. They are not stretched or cloned in there.

Hi Greg, what do you mean by "can output dual 1920x1200 on external monitors using even the E/Port Docking Station"? You meant even without?

I've got two monitors and I connected them to my E6400 with VGA connector and Displayport connector (with DVI to DisplayPort adapter), but E6400 only displaying one of the monitors.

Please let me know what can be done. If I have to buy E-plus port to use two external monitors.

    Thank you!
