    Hi guys,

I've been umming and aaahing about a new laptop purchase for the best part of 4 months - went from wanting an all singing all dancing gaming laptop, to something more sensible like a T400 or E6400 (the 15.4's are just a bit too big), finally bit the bullet and went for the E6400 - after poring over the reviews here and a few other sites, I've gone and bought one. It's a refurb off eBay with 3 years NBD warranty - the seller bought it from Dell Outlet themselves (they have loads of ex-outlet laptops for sale). There were no dead pixels or scratches, except a small one on the battery underside. Eventually I really want this to run with 8GB of RAM (too expensive at the mo!), which was why I wasn't really bothered about the fact it only had 2GB.

    Here's the spec:

    P9500 (2.53Ghz, 1066Mhz, 6MB Cache)
    2GB 800Mhz DDR2 SDRAM (1x2GB)
    14.1'' WXGA+ (1440x900) WLED LCD, with 0.3MP camera
    NVIDIA Quadro NVS 160M, 256MB
    8xDVD+/-RW
    Dell Bluetooth 370
    Intel WiFi Link 5300
    BACKLIT Keyboard
    Vista Business (64 Bit)
9 cell battery (85 Whr Lithium)

I had a 10% coupon with eBay (which expired tonight, this influenced my decision to finally buy!), including shipping this worked out at £825 (GBP)? Was it a good deal?

You got a great deal, especially considering the low value of the GBP nowadays. Congratulations! It's a fantastic laptop, and your specs are really good.

    Great deal!
I paid mine ~1 600 $ Canadian (yours is about 1 465.61$ Can), same system without Bluetooth but 4GB of RAM, slower CPU (2.26GHz) and Wireless Intel 5100 and 160GB of HDD space.

I would say that is a fair price, particularly since you gat the WXGA+ display and backlit keyboard options. You might have done better by sitting and watching Dell Outlet but it's significantly less than the cost of a new E6400. It's ~20% less than my E6400 cost, and that has a lower spec.
