I have a E6400 with the p9400 proc and am getting an idle temp in the high 40s. I wanted to see what everyone else was getting and to see if this was high or normal.

Which software are you using to read the temperatures?

HWmonitor says my P8600 core 0 is 38-40C and core 1 is 44 -48C, this is with CPU utilisation 30 - 40%. RMClock reports temperatures about 5C lower.

I use HWmonitor as well, I idle/surf internet at roughly 29*C and load is 50*C. I plan on undervolting, but it seems that there are still some problems with RMclock.

I also thought that the only P9xxx processor was the P9500, and that the rest of the 9xxx's were T series.

Also, for light usage (CPU utilisation ~10%), HWmonitor is giving my CPU core temperatures as 36 - 38C and 41 - 43C. THM is 43C.
