I just bought a Dell Wireless 370 for my Latitude E6400 and installed it. I have Windows Server 2008 Standard x64 installed on the laptop.

I tried to use the bluetooth drivers for Windows Vista x64 (for the Dell Wireless 370 and downloaded from the Dell Support website), but for some reason they don't work. There are the following three unknown devices in my Device Manager: MS_BTHBRB, MS_BTHPAN and MS_RFCOMM.

The BT application seems to have installed OK (the BT icon is present in the taskbar), but the drivers aren't. I tried manually pointing the driver search to the proper folder (C:\Dell\Drivers\BT) where I extracted them, but no go there either.

    HELP!

Wow... can no one help me with this? No one is using Windows Server 2008 Standard x64 on their E-series Latitudes or M-series Precisions (with a Dell Wireless 370 BT module)?

...because running a server OS on a laptop is crazy in the coconut?

Vista and 2008 run baically the same kernel... why would you run Server 2008?

It's not working because Server 2008 doesn't come with a Bluetooth stack.
Installing the Dell device drivers will identify the device and install drivers for it, but the OS can't use it. At least not in it's native state.

    1. Uninstall the Dell 370 device drivers completely.
    2. Backup your system in a clean state (just in case)
    3. Follow this tutorial

    4. Reference Gil's article here if you need more info

FYI, the Dell 370 Bluetooth card is a rebranded Broadcom using their 2046 BT chip.

... and by the time you put all the Vista functionality back it will be just as 'slow' as Vista.

Its false economy and placebo effect all wrapped into one crazy package.

Thanks MiB, but the links to the CAB files appear to be broken (in the tutorial). Can you upload them and post the link here? Thanks!

I'll have to send Komeil an email to let him know about it.

In the meantime use this tutorial instead.

Also link to the modified Microsoft Bluetooth Stack x64 Drivers download.

In future keep in mind, google search will reply to you much faster than me :)
