    Hi

I'm interesting in buying a Dell E6400 and I would like to know
the battery duration time different between using a Mobile Intel Graphics Media Accelerator against using NVIDIA Quadro NVS 160M?

Another question regarding performance, is there a visible performance gap
    between P8600 and P8700 CPU's?

    Thanks.

It's like 4-5 hours with the Quadro and 5-6 hours with the X4500 (assuming you're using a 25W processor, low RPM HDD, six cell battery, etc), so about an hour's difference. There won't be a noticeable difference between a P8600 and a P8700 in just about everything.

    Thanks for the fast replay.
The HDD is 250 GB 7200 RPM.

So the battery life different sums to 1 hour?

Assuming the hardware configurations and usage patterns are otherwise equal, it'll probably be around an hour. Give or take 15 minutes perhaps?

    Thanks.
Please help me to decide which system to choose.
    The prices are the same.

    1)P8700 + 80 GB 7200 RPM + 4500MHD + 6 cell battery
    2)P8600 + 250 GB 7200 RPM + NVIDIA Quadro NVS 160M + Back-lit Keyboard
    + 6 cell battery

    *other specs are the same.

I would choose the second system. The CPU is almost equivalent and the graphics are considerably better. It has more disk space and backlit keyboard too.

Choose the first only if battery life is important.

I see that you have a similar system as I would buy.
Do you have 6 cells battery?
If so, how long does it hold?

    thanks

Yes I have a 6-cell battery. It holds about 4h30 with normal settings. If you use Dell's power saving features (screen at 40 Hz, disable DVD and other stuff) it's about 5h15. This is all with Wireless and Bluetooth on, brightness close to minimum (it's quite bright still), just browsing the Internet.

With more things like undervolting the CPU and SSD you can probably increase it further.

Thanks, more than 4 hours is great.
If I need more, I'll get another 6 cell battery.
    :)

Even better, get a 9-cell if and when you need it. It sticks out at the back but otherwise looks fine. It doesn't go under the laptop like the Lenovo 9-cells.
