I have the p9xxx (don't remember exact), 4gb, 256ssd and 256 Quadro card and even playing 1 miniclip game, it lags like NUTS. Also, if I open like 4 or 5 youtube videos in browser tabs, it goes SLOW AS HECK! I have upgraded all drivers and even gotten a driver from NVidia's site. I know this isn't a gaming machine, but come on.

How do I check temperature and throttling?

Details are in the linked thread, though it is getting rather long. Under Windows Vista or Windows 7, you can check the Windows System Event Log for any "Event ID 7" entries. Alternatively, a lot of other users seem to be using "RM Clock", a.k.a. "Rightmark CPU Clock Utility".

Normally, the laptop is capable of gaming.
See my overclcoking guide on my signature.
I was able to run Resident Evil 5 benchmark at about 28-30fps and TF2 smoothly.

I do not want to have to overclock it. I mean why can I not even open 3 youtube videos at once

I don't think you have to overclock. Just make sure you're not "underclocking" due to temperature and/or throttling, as mentioned above.

Simple, you use a program like Everest (trial version is fine) then, in that porgram (if you choose to pick that one), go in Computer > Overclock. From there you can monitor your CPU, GPU speed and other things.

Secondly, you set your computer to high performance.

Third, you set your computer under load, your CPU you go up at full speed with a possibility of a slight automatic - by design - overclock of a few percentage (this depends on your CPU model), if you notice that while its under load teh CPU jumps down to ~800MHz, your system throttles, if not your good.

Make sure you do this test a 2-3 times.

A note: your CPU and GPU have a power management set in place.
For your CPU: if you set the system at Balance, the CPU will be at ~800MHz when idle, but will increase speed on demand.
If you have Nvidia solution, the same is applied, but this one is also applied at "high performance" profile of Windows, as Windows doesn't control the GPU. If you have the Nvidia solution and you want more controls on your GPU, there is my tool on my signature.
