E6220 or E6320?

I am selling my E4200 to upgrade to either an E6220 or E6320. I only use this laptop for travel and battery life is the foremost concern. I would get either with the biggest main battery and probably a battery slice. I don't care about an optical drive and I will replace whatever hard drive that comes with the machine with a 128gb SSD.

Curious how much battery I would expect from an E6220 with larger main + slice compared to an E6330 with larger main + media bay battery. I guess with the E6330 I can get a slice as well and go 3 batteries.

I know there are other laptop brands out there....but I'm a Dell guy.

 

Then I went and looked in the Outlet..... I found an E6320, i5-2520 (2.5Ghz), 4GB (1 DIMM), 320GB, backlit keyboard, webcam, Bluetooth, fingerprint, 1530 B/G/N wireless and upped to an onsite warranty for $607 after 20% coupon. $654 shipped to So Cal.

I think my wife is going to steal it from me though. She wants an upgrade and something smaller than her E6400.

 

I was debating which to go with between these two as well and went with the E6220 largely because the coupon was 25% as opposed to 15% with the E6320. I'm extremely happy with the 6220 though, the screen is only half an inch smaller and the keyboards are the exact same size so you aren't sacrificing much. I can't really compare it to a 6330 since I haven't seen/used one, but it's incredibly light compared to my E6400/E6410s and I can't say I've missed the optical drive even once. It actually came with an external one as well. As far as battery life - I have the 6 cell extended one and get around 4 hours.

 

Funny that the coupon said 15% off a E6320....but it took 20% off in my cart. Won't complain! That plus 5% back on my rebates program. I'm pretty happy. I have clients with E6220s, E6320s and I carry an E6420 as a daily use. This is primarily going to be for travel and backup.

That is....if my wife doesn't steal it. She misses her Inspiron 700m....small keyboard and all!

I have an E6220 with the extended battery, I usually get around 6-7 hours atm with it on balanced, low screen brightness.

 

I think the main difference between those two is the drive-bay that comes with the 6320.
I have one myself and I love to be able to switch, on the run, between DVD-R, HDD and a 3-cell battery.

 

As mentioned before I wound up getting the E6320....which as predicted my wife stole. She likes it better than her E6400.

I had some issues with my E4200 that Dell could not sort out so I they sent me an E6220 as a replacement. I bought the battery slice for it and I'm seeing 22 hours of battery with wi-fi off and brightness at 50%.

I'm quite happy.
