First dell experience here and not impressed

how the heck do i know if the hard drives encrypted? its a new laptop, i'm using it on a domain with the Data Access software and its found the TPM etc, but no where can i see hard drive encryption enabled, or enable encryption?

compared to the nice user friendly HP software this is a nightmare!

or am i just being stupid? someone please help!lol!

    cheers

    Ben

    Edit:
wait, it seems you have to buy it seperately, appears to not of been specced as standard. is this correct? seems mad for a business orientated machine to not have it as standard!

Dell often offers various configurations with varied pricing to buyers.

So the standard options really vary from each offering.

If you know you want the TPM as an opton you typically have to make sure it is either included or available as a add on during the configuration options menus (prior to the build process.)

oh the TPM is there fella, just theres no software to use it with!lol!

i'll just use trucrypt, but its just a bit of a joke that on a £1200 specced up dell machine theres no software included to use the tpm. (i didnt spec the machine btw, i was just given it!)
