    Hay,
    I would like to update my new E5520 to a full HD screen. Alot of info has been given in the E6520 forum, but I don't know if that is applicable for the E5520.

    Fact is, that there are alot of E6520 full hd screen for sale, but they have 30 or 40 pin cables. Wich one do I need? Do I need a new cable or is mine compatible?

    With other words, if I have a 30 pin cable on my non-HD screen, will it work on a 30pin FHD screen?

    I don't have a camera, does that effect my choice in cables?
    Does anyone have a E5520 with a FHD screen that can tell me what screen it is, and wich cable is used?

    My current screen is a AUO23EC (dont know about the cable).

    Another question, is there a substitute for the B156HW01 V.4 screen? maybe one that is almost as good?

    Thank you in advance,
    Roy

    I helped a friend with an E6510 upgrade from 1366x768 to 1920x1080. The cable was 30-pin, and the LG LP156WF1(TP)(B1) FHD replacement worked just fine.

    For this Vostro 3555 screen seller guy says It has a standard LED 40 pin data input connector.

    How do I know for sure 30 or 40 pin connector?

    LED = 40 pin

    CCFL = 30 pin + 2 pin power on a separate board.
