I have a Latitude E5470 that is under warranty until July 2019. I have the matte, non touch, 1366x768 display. If I buy one online, is it possible to install the matte, non touch, 1920x1080 display without voiding the warranty? I'm fine with having to put the 1366x768 display back in if it were to need warranty work. Machine has the i7 6820HQ and Intel HD 530 graphics.

If you're careful enough, there should be no issue. There aren't any warranty stickers on the display bezel, are there?

The video I watched didn't show one. All of the non-touch displays I could find online show the same 30-pin connector so that shouldn't be an issue.

I see someone mentioned there being a dual channel edp cable required for the higher resolution display, and that my 1366x768 equiped machine may only have a single channel edp cable. Can anyone confirm this?

    https://www.vesa.org/wp-content/uploads/2010/12/DisplayPort-DevCon-Presentation-eDP-Dec-2010-v3.pdf

On page 15 there's a handy little table / chart, which confirms that 1080p does indeed require both lanes of the eDP interface.

That being said, on a summary Googling (for E5470 spare parts), it would seem that there's a good(?) possibility that the video cable is the same for all display options. The only separate / different one being the one that includes the touchscreen cabling.

Thanks for the chart, I haven't seen that pdf before. I agree on the possibility of them all having the same display cable, I too was only able to find one for touch screen and one for non-touch. I'll have to order a FHD display and see what happens.

Due to economies of scale, i doubt it would've been worthwile for them to have two separate non-touch cables made, just to save on 1ft (if even that) of hair-thin wire :) Good luck / fingers crossed...
