What size of laptop sleeve should I be looking at if I have the 9-cell option?

How do the keyboards compare between the E4300 and the E6400? I have read some poor reviews of the E4300 keyboard, but I could not find a review of both by the same person. The E6400 keyboard is not bad; not as good as my old Thinkpad T40 but good enough.

    Thanks.

i bought a tuscano case on sale at frys (10 bucks from 30 bucks), and its kind of tight, but i dont mind. it fits all other 14.1" laptops fine, but the 9cell juts out, so its a tight fit. i like it though. nice, simple, and protective.

Considering the similar pricing, since you don't need the available nVIDIA graphics or the WXGA+ display on the E6400, the E4300 is definitely the way to go!

With a 6-cell battery in each, the E6400 lasts 5:19 compared to 6:45 for the E4300. The E4300 is also more than one pound lighter than the E6400.

I recently received a refurbed E4300. I got a non-backlit keyboard but I'm not crazy about it There is a lot more flex than the E6400. Would the backlit keyboard be any firmer?

Backlit keyboard should be a little more firm due to the LED's, but not by much. But I can't say because the keyboard is completely different. Quieter, different texture, different plastic.

From what I read, you don't want an ultra firm keyboard... as long as when you type it does not bend, and does not stop a disk in the optical drive when you apply pressure (I seen this!), it's good. Having a little flex with pressure at the center of the keyboard is good as if the laptop gets squished too much, he keyboard won't brake your 300-400$ LCD (well that is how much Dell sells them apparently) screen. I know that this is a problem on some MAC computers, based on what I saw from students.

Well after looking at it id say take the E4300. It is at a portable size and offers the same performance.
