I had some M6400s at home (2 E2E RGB, a non E2E and a CCFL one) and took a look under the bezel/E2E cover. So if someone gets annoyed about the reflections of the E2E-cover you can exchange it with the normal bezel (you need some tricks to order it from Dell as a spare part)

    this is a great test.
    and what's your opinion?
I mean you prefer with or without the glass?

Hard question. I like both. The glassplate gives the image a real stylish and sharp look and the colors look a bit better (because on the matte you have more diffuse light on the matte coating). But without the glassplate you have no direct reflections and the matte coating isn't as matte as on old screens. It's more like a semi gloss matte, so the colors look very good.

When you've a E2E screen I would keep the glassplate. When you decide which one you want to buy, I would hardly pay an upcharge.

I have seen the matte and the E2E (I own the E2E) and I like both of them! The E2E does have reflections but I think it is worth the sharp look and colors... it was a hard choice when I bought it, but now I would go E2E!

So the E2E front bezel is not really just a frame but a frame with glass over it that fills in the whole screen?

I would not mind ordering one for my E6500 to have E2E instead of the bezel frame.

The plastic part is smaller on the E2E bezel, so the glassplate fits.
It looks good (see the new MacBooks) but it adds weight and can act like a mirror in some situations.

Is there a 15.4 inch version that fits the E6500?

No, you could only get a glossy RGB-LED screen from the M4400 for the E6500, but no E2E glassplate.
