E 6400 vs E 6500 - Primary Concern: Screen !!!!!!

No mobility issues. It'll get moved from place to place occasionally, but not regularly. How is the "normal" (non-gaming or heavy 3D) performance better with the Nvidia GPU? I had heard it made the screen a bit better and more tweakable, then told not.

The Dimension has given me great service Currently running 3 year old install of XP (Win Millenium was a diaster!). It has 933mHz PIII and Radeon 32MB GPU, and maxed out at 512MB RAM. Safe to say, it's feeling s l o w! Big websites with lots of multimedia are brutal. I used to watch repeats of LOST from ABC's website, but now in HD, my computer just locks up , so I'm due myself. Just don't have a lot of disposable money yet. Would love a new Studio XPS desktop!

 

The E6500 nVidia has a faster clock and DDR3 memory. You can compare these specs under 'help me choose' where you customize the video option on dell.com.

I updated four 4100s from ME to XP for folks... great machine for that.

Co-incidentally, I am shopping the Studio XPS desktop for my mother-in-law, who wants to retire her 4100. The Studio XPS looks good but may have a fan noise issue (hard to tell just reading the complaints), and I don't understand how the optical drive bay doors work... a tray behind a door perhaps. Must order soon... was suppose to be for Christmas!
