DVD Drive what one to get and where?

    forgot to order a dvd drive while i was ordering my e6500 like a right fool as i was constantly having to correct the guys statements he sent me and ended up not noticing i hadnt ordered till it arrived

    i havent needed it so far but will soon and was wondering which of the compatable drives would be the best?

    The coolest external DVD drive I've found is voodoo's esata drive. VoodooPC
    slot loading = secksey

    sorry i meant for the internal modular drive which one would be best and where to pic them up as the dell site is ridiculous at telling u any specifics of each of the drives it offers just differing prices

    You need a 9.5mm (3/8") thick burner with SATA connector. There's not a lot of choice at the moment. Newegg has the DS-8A2S which is the burner in my E6400.

    However, you also need to find a source for the latch / release mechanism which Dell attaches to the standard burner.

    yeh thats what i was worried about john the enclosure for it i know i can pick up drives no probs its just i remember on the site seeing about 3 drves and the only real information on them was the price difference

    i meant to order the most expensive one just to be sure i got a decent dual layer burner but after all the carryon with the order i forgot all about it
