Are there drivers for the factory latitude d600 cd/dvd burner? My father bought a brand new dell studio laptop and he had an old d600 with the cd/dvd burner and i took the burner from his computer and put it in my latitude d600 which did not have the cd/dvd burner. I tried to burn some songs to a cd to test it out and its not burning the songs on the cd. Im using Nero Burner (im not sure what version it is but its an old one i know that fact.) When i burned the cd itself, it says the burn process was successful and complete. But i tried to play the CD through windows media player and it says theres no cd in the d:/ drive. It reads regular music cds and also cds ive burned in the past, just the actual songs are not burning on the cd itself (if that little bit of info helps)

Try burning the CD at a lower speed.

Is the drive able to read music off of the Audio CD after it has burned it?

There are no special drivers. I suggest you try some different burning software.

There is a selection of free software here.

Ive tested the cd/dvd burner and it plays a regular music cd just fine. Its just when i burn a song to a blank cd, the Windows player doesnt even see the cd in the cd drive. Ive also tried Nero burner for the second time and also an old Magix mp3 maker program and still nothing.....what can it be? And how do i change the burning speed on Nero?
