Has anyone performed any burn-in tests with the M2800?

Because business no longer consider customer loyalty a part of their business equation. That type of philosophy dies a long time ago. Nowadays, the "shareholders" are only interested in the bottom line...profit.

I considered the Precision... briefly. The problem is that I wanted a 14" machine.

It is apparent that only a fool (or someone spending their employer's money) would pay Dell's list. Unfortunately of the three flavors of the E6440 offered on the Canadian site no discount was being offered on the high-end configuration. It seems to me that it makes more sense to offer the discounts on the higher-end machines in order to encourage purchasers to go more upscale than they had planned, rather than encouraging them to buy lower-spec machines in order to get a discount. Perhaps I could have picked up the phone and negotiated a better price, but it was just as easy (a bit easier) for me to buy a Lenovo T440p.

Actually, the 15" is the sweet spot for laptops. The few that offer 14" at this level, only do so for convenience.

I suppose we are in for interesting times with the recent restructuring of ownership of Dell. Have read a lot of good about Dell's 7000 series. But in our neck of the wood higher end Dell machines are kinda dear to most of use what with exchange rate and watnots. On the other hand transferring warranty for used dells is easy so that maybe of help to those in the know. Picked up an E6220 recently dead cheap and I am getting a new screen soon to replace the one that comes with a vertical line. With a new battery guess I will have a decent mobile laptop for a couple of years and will not be looking for a replacement till wateva come out of Haswell then. I do hope that Dell will keep with their usually decent casings to case their machines. Good as Lenovos are I do feel that they creaks a bit.
