Hi, got a query regarding a Latitude E6500 and a docking station and I'm hoping to get some help as frustration is HIGH.

This is my work computer. i just transferred to this section and they assign us these notebooks and provide docking stations. Notebook also used for travel. The docking station is a Dell and the only model information I can see is PR03X.

When the notebook is attached to the docking station, about every 25-35 minutes my mouse dies. The red laser light on the bottom goes out. (M/N M-UVDEL1) My keyboard is also unusable. (M/N SK8135) Not sure if it makes a difference, but I am using dual monitors connected to the docking station.

I can open the notebook and that keyboard functions, but the touchpad mouse is not working. I end up having to do a shut down. My IT guy told me to plug the mouse and keyboard directly into the notebook's USB ports as a temporary measure. Same issue in the same timeframe.

Laptop is new out of the box, docking station is new out of the box. Mouse and keyboard appear to be considerably older. Love this notebook - it's good and quick, but have been grinding my teeth and cursing every time I am editing or designing something and the mouse craps out.

any guidance woudl be greatly appreciated!

sounds like a problem with the USB bus on the laptop itself. I would look into warranty options (Dell will probably swap out the mainboard)
