I've been shopping laptops and have my eye on either an e6400 or e6500 from the dell outlet.

I've been tempted to pull the trigger already but I'm going to try and hold off in hopes of a coupon.

My question: Do all these have backlit keyboards?

Aside from the obvious(screen size), anything I consider when deciding between e6400 and e6500?

Considering there can be above 1000 units in the outlet, I'm going to go with a "NO".

No, they probably do not. There is no easy way to search for it either unfortunately so you will have to view the information for each.

You'll have to pull up each individual unit by clicking 'View Details'. If it has the Backlit Keyboard, it will be shown in the "Hardware Upgrade" section where the battery size and power adapter (along with other misc. items) are shown.

I'd also suggest that you double check your order confirmation and not rely on the system identifier (view details) alone. One of the orders that I canceled had an LED screen on the identifier but showed CCFL on the confirmation. The rep told me that it's normal and it's a template issue. Needless to say, I didn't buy the excuse and just reordered another. I believe the backlit keyboard has a part number of G077C

Yes the LED problem happened to me twice ! I still don' t have a E6400( I just might purchase new and be done with it) I would not rely on the system identifier. Sadly the only way for sure is after you buy it and recieve a confirmation email with the order number.

Id also suggest write down all the ones you want and then call the customer service and ask them about each one, good luck :)
