So I've got a Dell DisplayPort->DVI adapter hooked up to my E6500. It physically broke in that pushing in on the "button" portion of it did not recess the teeth that are used to lock the port in place. Now Dell has to send a technician out to replace my motherboard .

All in all, having these teeth is a very poor design because it can cause stuck inputs. Also, I'm glad I got On-Site repair because I don't know how I'd fit the laptop in the styrofoam container used for mail-in service.

The adapter was faulty. The connector is very well done. HDMI problem is that there is nothing to hold it, so it always slide out. The trick manufacture did for it is to make the plug tighter... but with force of plug-in the HDMI cable in/out a few times it will get lose again, and pull/fall out. That is why Display Port has this solution. DVI and VGA got the screws for something as well :)
