    Hi...

Just acquired this....when I close the lid the display turns off as it should, but when I open it the display does not come back until I press function + crt/lcd. I have a C610 which doesn't do that, and the bios setups are identical.

Also: it came with two 256MB memory sticks, but bios showed only 256MB of memory. I found that either stick would work in slot 1, but neither in slot 2. I cleaned the slots and the sticks, but no go.

    Any help appreciated.

Well, about the third time I booted into bios, it started showing 512MB. Go figure.

Re: the display problem, have you installed the most recent display driver and service pack for Windows? The type of problem you describe used to be a more frequent occurrence.

Yes, I'd forgotten the video driver. Thanks for the reminder.

The memory problem turns out to be intermittent.
