Does anyone know how to disable the touchscreen on a Dell Latitude XT? I'm having a bunch of issues with it randomly clicking and closing my windows... I've tried to update the drivers (Win 7 and 8 32-bit) but that didn't seem to resolve the issue.

I'm currently running Windows 8 and the touchscreen works great (without all the random clicking).

I also tried disabling "DuoSense" in Device Manager but that didn't seem to do anything either. (See screenshot below).

Any help is would be much appreciated :D

Hmm, try going to View menu -> Devices by Connection. Then you can expand the tree by selecting the top (computer name), and hitting numpad asterisk. (The asterisk on '8' won't do it.)

Somewhere underneath USB, there may be an entry for the controller itself, with sub-devices for the pen input and the touch input.

Yeah I haven't really tried messing with that tree yet but it's probably in there somewhere.

So Windows 8 just happened forget about my touchscreen. Every time I start up now it shows up as unrecognized USB which is good because my mouse doesn't jump around. :D

Now I just have to disable the stupid notifications from popping up.

    Problem solved!

Disregard my last post... As soon as I posted it, I rebooted my XT and it found the drivers and the mouse started jumping again. So I fought with the mouse while I opened Device Manager and disabled "USB Composite Device" under the USB Devices tree.

    Problem solved! :D
