How can I disable the Touchpad surface on my Latitude D630 but keep the track stick and touchpad buttons active when a mouse is not attached? Whenever I use the laptop keyboard while traveling, accidental contact with the touchpad always creates annoying problems, sometimes very serious problems. The track stick never causes those problems and for me I greatly prefer using it over the touchpad.
    Thanks

There should be an option to disable the touchpad in the mouse options. I don't have that laptop so I can't comment further than that. Sorry.

If you've got the fancy Dell touchpad driver installed, you can go to Control Panel > Mouse and select the Dell Touchpad tab. There should be a Device Select icon which will give you the option to turn off the touchpad and/or touchpad buttons. Alternatively, for those who want to turn off the pointing stick and/or pointing stick buttons, there are also options to disable or enable those.
