i i'm currently thinking of buying a dell latitude E series and i was just wondering what are the screen dimensions of the E6400 and E6500 at 1440x900 ?

doesn anybody recommend one over the other ? and why ?
(i'll be using it for web surfing (alot, programming, watching movies, university, writing documents, research) i need something light with a good screen res for programming and good battery life!

15.4 I find quite a bit bigger. I prefer 14.1 or smaller for any type of portability.

If you can take a look at a 13.3 inch laptop in a store, 1440x900 makes text appear just slightly smaller than the 13.3 inch screen at 1280x800(standard res)

The only real performance difference is the available graphics, but with what you are going to be doing you only need the Intel card.

I prefer the bigger 15.4" as weight and size don't bother me too much as I have become accustomed to lugging around a 16" 7lbs laptop. I carry my laptop in my knapsack everyday, travelling approximately 1-3 hours.

A 15.4" notebook is significantly larger and heavier.Use the square of the screen diagonal to get a better indicator of the size difference. The E6400 is not exceptionally light and the E6500 is heavier.

    1440 x 900 @14.1" is 120 ppi (pixels per inch), 1440 x 900 @ 15.4" is 110 ppi, 1280 x 800 @ 13.3" is 113 ppi, 1280 x 800 @ 14.1 is 107 ppi, etc.

Pick tab "Front view" and "My items" to see all you need. Note this is only screen comparision !
Full dimension comparision (little simplified) is here http://www.sizeasy.com/page/size_co...S1330-vs-Dell-E4300-vs-Paper-A4-vs-Dell-E4200 (use 3D view)
