Hello guys, i do photography and would like to know if the Ultrasharp FHD is RGB LED ? The Price for the IPS is a lot more thats why im asking...

I wanted to get a xps 15z in replacement for my old xps 1645. but i heard the display is far from good.

    a) UltraSharp FHD (1.920 x 1.080), Breitbild, LED
    b) Full High Definition (1920x1080) Wide View IPS RGB LED

    Cheers

a is a decent 1080 TN screen, with average gamut
b it a very good gamut IPS screen where you get close to 100% aRGB color palette ( think dell u series IPS external quality )

On the 17.3" screens, the FHD panel will cover the sRGB gamut. The IPS RGBLED panel will cover sRGB, AdobeRGB, and NTSC.

The NTSC color gamut is wider than aRGB.

Yes. I have measured it covering aRGB and NTSC on two IPS panels.

nice 95% gamut TN screen in the t520 & w520 as well as glossy and matte options in the clevo/sager 15 and 17" units. not sure if their rgb-led backlight or not but the calibration is bloody impressive

The 15.6" RGBLED IPS in the M4600 is also 100% of the NTSC gamut and runs at a true 10 bits of color accuracy. Most TN panels are 6 bit - so 64 shades of red, green, and blue. 8 bit is 256. 10 bit is 1024.

Ok well sounds like Ill go for precision as I guess getting back the money from dell after several replacements (most of them due to screen issues) will be hard.

I mean there is a law in germany that says, after 3 repairs you can opt out of teh original buying contract, meaning u should get a complete new replacement or the money back.

im afraid getting money back will take way too long and will be of too much hassle?

furthermore, whats the battery life with the amd firepro?
