    Hi

Im about to buy a Precision M4400, and was wondering if the visible difference between the RGBLED display and the ordinary WUXGA display would be significant?

    thanks

are you asking the difference between an LED display with the mainstream CCFL display?

    the LED would have:

    better battery life
    better colour accuracy
    better brightness
    lighter and thinner
    better lifespan
    virtually instant warm up time

thats all i can think of at this momment...

if you have the money to upgrade then certainly get the LED.

The Precision M4400 only offers the WLED (white) screen in 1440x900 resolution right now. The RGB LED (1920x1080) screen uses the three primary colors of light and combines them in different amounts to produce the correct colors giving you more color precision. The RGBLED screen is going to be much more expensive and is tailored more toward photoshop or video editing professionals.

Thanks a lot for confirming my suspicions, this is exactly why i wanted it. It was quite a cheap upgrade, 86usd but they dont have supply at the moment so they temporarily removed it :(

what i really wanted to know is if the normal wuxga screen is much worse than it, i do a lot of photoshop and video editing....im in marketing...i hated it when i had my inspiron 8600 and my printouts dont look the same as the displayed one :( hoping someone would confirm that the normal screen on this newer laptop is better..

i need to decide soon as the super super good offer the sales rep gave me is going to be withdrawn soon due to the rising USD

In order of true color representation it would be RGBLED, WLED, and then CCFL which is what the WUXGA would be. However the newer CCFL would be better than the one in your Inspiron 8600. The one for $86 would have been the WLED screen, since RGBLED isn't offered yet. Also, as far as I know only Dell has offered or is going to offer the RGBLED.

RGBLED was offered, i have a quotation to prove it :p

however the sales rep said they only had 2 units and they got sold, and they've temporarily unavailable while they get their supply issues sorted out.

gonna lose my discount if i wait for it to become available, so i think im gonna go ahead anyway..

    thanks for the info :)
