Did I screw up the battery?

I have the E6400 battery for my XFR which I left on sleep mode for couple of weeks. It was at only 12.7% wear level for a few months and when I plugged to the AC and powered it on after the sleep mode, the battery charge was at 0% practically. It gave me a message about the motherboard missing the cell battery and the bios was entirely reset.

On windows, I got a message saying that the battery will be charging but that capacity is greatly reduced. The wear level is now showing close to 40%...

So is this classic example of prolonged stay at 0% screwing up the cells? Or is there some kind of other way for me to restore to perhaps its "real" capacity? I am using Battery Bar Pro to monitor the wear level.

    Any feedback would be appreciated!

Hmm.. I just recaliberated and the wear level is now sitting at 20%. Will recaliberate again when it charges back to see if it could get close to the 12.4% initial wear.
