$1595 plus tax for the following:

    Core 2 Duo T9400 (2.53 Ghz)
    2 GB RAM, 2 DIMM
    Quadro NVS 160M
    LED-backlit screen
250 GB 7200 RPM hard drive
    DVD burner
    9-cell battery
Dell 1397 wireless (the cheap one); no BT or WWAN
webcam, backlit keyboard, fingerprint reader, smartcard reader (I didn't ask for the smartcard reader, but wasn't charged either)
    E-Port Plus
    Vista Business
    3-year mail-in with CompleteCare

Is that good? Could I do better with someone's rep? The configuration was $1960 when I ordered and should still be around $1795 with the highest current discount (I got a price adjustment yesterday).

    I got this for $1605...

    P9500 - 2.53GHz
    1GB RAM, 1 DIMM
    4500MHD
    LED-WXGA+
    80GB 5400RPM
    DVD Burner
    9-Cell battery
    Intel 5300
    Backlit keyboard, smart card reader
    E-Port, E-TravelLite
    Vista Business
    3-Year onsite
$100 Dell dollars (rebate for next purchase, which I intend to use)

I'd say we both did pretty good.

(P.S.: I would have paid $1388 had I not gotten the dock and instead ordered the P8400 processor)

Okay, I did see a couple of posts from you about your rep, and was wondering if you thought he could get me a better price, but it looks like it would probably be a tossup. The Dell Dollars would be nice, because I'm looking at a 2408 to take advantage of my dual-DVI on the E-Port Plus, but I might try for a concession coupon due to the audio pops and the inability for the computer to go into standby a couple of times (followed once by an 0x9F BSOD and a message about the 160M driver, which leads me to believe it's video-driver-related). That plus calling up to see how good a deal I can get will probably be enough to net me a decent one (I'm hoping for $400 after the coupon, but that may be optimistic).
