I want need an external keyboard for my Latitude D630. I prefer the ergonomic ones with the split keyboard but most of them seem to be for desktop computers. The ones I like have the word "desktop" in them, like "Natural Ergonomic Desktop 7000" from Microsoft. Do these work with laptops by any chance? They probably don't but I thought I would ask to double check :p

I tried calling Dell, but I was bumped around for 30 mins so I finally hung up. The canadian reps don't seem to have a strong command of the english language...

If you can plug it in, it will work. Keyboards are pretty much standard these days, USB or PS/2. I suggest you check whether the plug for the keyboard is PS/2 because I don't know many laptops that come with one (make sure they aren't referring to the mouse if it is a package, sometimes it will say support for USB and PS/2 when only the mouse has an adapter for the USB). :)

Wireless ones comes with USB wire less receivers, you plug the receiver in to the USB port and it connects wirelessly to your keyboard/mice.

As mentioned, wireless keyboards usually come with USB adapters, but you can also find bluetooth keyboards that will work with internal bluetooth modules. Finally, PS/2 keyboards will work too if you buy a PS/2 to USB adapter or have a relic of a laptop with a PS/2 port.
