    Hello all.
    I have over heating problem with my parent's Vostro. I checked the web site and it said notebook was shipped toady (2/15/08) so I guess it expired today or yesterday? :( Had anybody had their notebook warranty honored with my kind of situation?

    Call them now and find out. You may even explain your circumstances and see if you can convince the Dell Rep to help you out. Waiting around won't get you anywhere any faster.

    dtwn83, is right..you need to call on this promptly. The Business side might handle it a bit better for you than the Consumer side would.

    I have seen on the forum, they have helped several peep's out shortly after their warranty expired. They sent me a new 9 cell battery, after my warranty had expired..it was about 8 days out. For that I'm thankful.

    I don't have it with me right now, and it's way too early for me to get frustrated talking with Dell reps. :p I am planing to leave in few min to my parents house to see what happened. All I know is the computer was shipped this day last year, loud noise from fan, computer keep shutting off and white residue on bottom vent.

    Yeah I've seen few posts here too. Let see what happens later, when I get to my parents house. I had found AS5 and bringing screw drivers just in case.

    Meanwhile I need more coffee. :wink:
