    Hey guys,

I've been reading around that Dell has a FULL refund on its Vostro Laptops/machines

is this true? slash i have a 2510 that I just ordered, and no longer want it -- if i return it completely shut, through the normal return channels, will i get all my money back, or should I try to sell it?

If you are within 21 days of the invoice, you should be able to return it no problem and no fees.

Re-selling it is not going to get you most of your money back. I'd wager you wouldn't be able to sell it at more than 75% of face value.

30 days from invoice. You could be subject to a 15% restocking fee.

Exceptions to Dell's 21-Day Return Period:

    * New Vostro, Optiplex, Latitude, and Dell Precision systems purchased directly from divisions designated by Dell as Commercial or Public may be returned within 30 days from the date on the packing slip or invoice.
    * Application software and operating systems that have been installed by Dell may be returned only if installed on a returnable system, and only if you return that system within the applicable return period.
    * Dell EqualLogic and EqualLogic -branded products, Dell|EMC and EMC -branded products, PowerVault ML6000 tape libraries, non-Dell-branded enterprise products, enterprise software, and customized hardware or software products may not be returned at any time. Software licenses purchased under any type of volume license agreement may be returned only with the express approval of the publisher, which in many circumstances will not be granted.
    * Software licenses purchased under any type of volume license agreement may be returned only with the express approval of the publisher, which in many circumstances will not be granted.

Restocking Fees: Unless the product is defective or the return is a direct result of a Dell error, Dell may charge a restocking fee of up to 15% of the purchase price paid, plus any applicable sales tax.

    IN the United States.

yea conscience is getting to me too -- but i was planning on returning it anyway and having to pay that 15% restocking fee is annoying (but fair i guess?).

it doesnt help that dell wasnt very nice to me when i asked about their student discount packages, and their sales rep just lied to me...ahh well...i guess library computers is all i got til my lenovo ships. :(
