dell vostro lcd problem please help

    i have dell vostro 1500 laptop,which was 1 year old.the warrenty period was expired.since 2 weeks time when i connect to ac adapter the lcd backlight went off.(i can see the faint image in screen) it works fine with the battery charge, no problems i change the adapter but the problem is persist.please can any one help me?
