The Vostro A860 for $449 is based on previous-generation (outdated) Intel hardware:
    1.6GHz Intel T5470 (800MHz, 2mb L2, Merom architecture)
    Intel GMA X3100 graphics
Windows Vista Home Basic- no upgrade available
and it only has 2-USB ports and an ancient PC card slot
    2GB RAM & 250GB Hard Drive

For $479, you can get a much faster Inspiron 15 with more features:
    2.0GHz Intel T4200 (800MHz, 1mb L2 cache, Penryn architecture)
Windows Vista Home Basic (upgrade to Premium for $30)
    3GB RAM & 320GB Hard Drive
    15.6" 1366x768 LED-backlit Display
    Intel GMA 4500MHD graphics
3-USB ports & Express Card slot
