    Hey ,

Since my Vostro 3460 does not have the Msata slot i've decided to replace my current hard-drive(500gb, 7200rpm)
with SSD drive and i have a few questions:

    1. Anyone tried to install SSD drive on this laptop ? will it support Intel 240gb 520/335 series? (on the manual dell claim it will support only up to 128GB).

    2. can i physically install such a SSD drive? (maybe thinkness problem ?)

    Thanks a lot,
    Drorey.

SATA is SATA is SATA. What Dell means by that is that they only sell the laptop with up to a 128GB SSD, but you can always add a bigger one yourself. And yes, Intel's drives will work. And the 2.5" form factor is very standardized, so you should have no issue installing this in your laptop. Just remember to discharge yourself is all static electricity before messing around with your exposed laptop parts and bare SSD.
