Some months ago I had a problem with my Vostro monitor. It turned out to be a loose connection in the monitor cable which I was able to fix.
Now, I have the same problem again. When I boot up, everything seems to be running fine except that the monitor is white. I can see things on an external monitor and I can brighten/dim my monitor with the keyboard shortcut. Reattaching the cable and trying all combinations of pressure on the cable or socket do not seem to work. On simple inspection the cable and everything else look fine.
Any idea what the problem could be? Is there any particular technique in reattaching the cable? Are there any other points where there could be a loose cable?

    Thanks,
    Anand
