I am trying to restore my Vostro 1500 to factory settings, but CTRL F11 does not work.

It goes straight from the main Dell screen with the F2 and F12 boot options up in the right hand corner to the Windows XP screen. There is no www.Dell.com with a blue bar for 2 seconds. I have pressed these keys at every other time possible too.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I just tried hitting F8 at the start screen, but all that comes up is an Advanced windows option meny type thing, nothing about restoring system to factory settings or repair. Am I missing something?

Thank your for the quick reply of course though

If you reformatted with a Windows disk, you likely messed up the MBR. I believe there is a way to repair it.

On the other hand, it is actually a tapping sequence, you need to be tapping CTRL and holding F11 I believe.
