Dell Vostro 1400 128 mb 8400m gs problem

hi i have a dell vostro 1400 nvidia 128 mb 8400m gs and i recently downgraded to windows xp and whenever i play any game like half life 2 death match my computer would lock up and crash to the point that i would have to manually shutdown and power back on but when i play less graphic intensive games like phantasy star online or even virtua tennis the computer would freeze and then start up again only to show the entire game in different colors and the words in the game would become garbled up. i believe the gpu is overheating but
when i looked at the temp with the nvidia monitor it showed 60 degrees Celsius and when i ran hardware monitor it was the same
Specs:
intel core 2 duo t5470 @ 1.6
128 mb nvidia 8400m gs not oc'ed
2 gb ram
running 169.09 modified drivers from laptopvideo2go.com

 

Well try using acutal drivers from dells website for the 8400M GS and if it still messes up then send it back 2 dell or ask them about it.

 

you see the weird thing is that whenever i run half life 2 deathmatch i am able to play a match for about 3 mins on 100+ fps when i lower all settings to low but then the game freezes and crashes and whenever i play older games like Phantasy star online and stuff the game freezes then unfreezes and im left with discolored textures and jumbled words and im thinking that the gpu hasnt burned out but im going to install the stock drivers and see what happens and all this at about 60 degrees celcius for the gpu
