    Hey,

I am thinking of buying a Vostro 1320 but on my searching the only technical manual they have on the site (support.dell.com) it shows that Vostro 1320 and Vostro 1520 use Nvidia 9400 GS video card...

So does anyone know which is it ...on configuring options I only see Nvidia 9300 GS option as dedicated video card.

I don't want to buy one and one month from now they fix the notebook with 9400 GS video card.

    Any thoughts

PS - Are these cards good to do decent gaming (not hardcore user - just want to play half-life2 episode 1 and 2 on it)

    thanks

According to the nVIDIA website, the only 9400M model is the integrated 9400M G. The only Dell product using the 9400M G is the Studio XPS 13.

I'm fairly certain that the Vostro 1320/1520 use the 9300M GS. That is the logical successor to the 8400M GS in the previous Vostro 1310/1510. It is possible that the 9300M GS could be replaced with the new "GeForce G 105M". But Dell doesn't have a reputation for updating hardware on newly introduced models. The 9300M GS will likely be in the 1320/1520 indefinitely.

Would you mind linking that manual?
I am only aware of the 9300 being available in those two models. I'm also highly doubtful that they would refresh them so soon considering that they just launched the 1x20 series a little while ago.

I know this may seem unthinkable, but Dell might have made a typo? According to nVIDIA, there is no 9400M GS- LINK. Just the 9400M G, used in various Macbooks, Dell Studio XPS 13 and some Toshiba Qosmio X305 models (in conjunction with 9800M GTS dedicated card).

I'm thinking that the person(s) responsible for the information in that manual simply wrote 9400M GS because the 1310 has an 8400M GS. Just speculation, but mistakes happen.
