I purchased a laptop Dell Vostro 1014 two years ago. Not long after my purchasing, the laptop broke down. The whole screen become white and I can not see anything. I had it fixed once, but few months later the problem came back.

Is there anybody face the same problem like mine or anyone know what happened? What should I do now? I appreciate every suggestion. Thanks in advance!

Didn't they say what was wrong the first time?

It's probably a hardware problem; either the lcd screen the motherboard or the cable that connects them.

I'd try connecting your laptop to an external monitor and see if that works.

    Hi Susan ,

My name is Rathish and I am working with Dell Social Media Team. I got to know from your post that your computer just gives a white screen when you turn the computer on .
The first step I request you to try is to remove the power cable and the battery then hold the power button for 15-20 seconds and put the battery and the adapter back in and try and start the computer.
    If that did not help.
I request you to kindly run the Preboot system assessment test .
The easiest way to run the test is to press and hold the FN key (function key) and then press the power button once and keep holding the FN key till you see the test
    running on the screen .
IF you are able to see the color bars then I can assure you that there is no issue with LCD or else its an issue with LCD screen
Let the test run and if you get any error messages . Please let me know.
Also if you have a monitor , Please try and connect it on the video connector of the laptop as suggested by Nankuru. If you are getting display it not an issue with the video card or motherboard.

Please try the steps above and let us know the error.

    Thanks & Regards
