Did they take it down from the website? I'm getting this: 'Sorry, but this item is no longer available for purchase online. Please contact your sales representative for details on how to order.'

Looks good though, it seems like it will be my new laptop unless HP introduces some interesting Elitebooks.

I've just called them with a view to including a back-lit keyboard, but they said I'd have to cancel and re-order, with "no guarantee the same price will be available". Not sure it's worth the risk.

So it seems I've managed to get the system above for £1242 inc delivery. The discount looks to be over £450. Delivery is not expect for 4 weeks though. See what happens eh!

Dell USA has them now too, but the only configuration available at the moment has a 5300rpm Hybrid HDD :-(.

If I price out a E6530 with the same options (the E6530's version of CPU and GPU being the i7-3740QM CPU and NVIDIA® NVS™ 5200M GPU), the price is the same as the E6540.

    Damn. :/

Hopefully you install the backlit keyboard at a later date, I'm sure it will be a straightforward task. Quite a good discount, my spec would probably drop the 16GB RAM for 8GB and include the 9 cell but apart from that it looks similar.

They've cancelled my order without notification. The only reason I'm having to buy a new laptop is because my M1530 failed due to a faulty nVidia chip. Gits.

I called them up, and they apologised and created a new order at the same price. Think I'll be checking the status page nervously every day until it's in production! Delivery has been set back a week though - it's now expected on 18th July.

Order cancelled without notification once again. What an utter joke.

Out of principle, I think it's time to consider seeking a partial refund for my faulty XPS M1530.
