So, add Dell to the growing list (HP is another) who doesn't care about Canadians nor Canadian customers as they restrict the options compared to Americans and what is available to U.S. customers.

E.g. M4400 has way less options for Cdn customers compared to U.S. customers. American customers can order 15.4" WUXGA TrueLife RGB LED display (1920x1200) while Canadian Dell customers are limited to only a 15.4” WXGA (1280x800) LED Display.

That is probably enough for me to boycott Dell. I will have to think about it. This has nothing to do with currency either (Dells for Canadians cost more even though there is supposed to be friggin' free trade.).

Is there any laptop manufacturers that don't give Canadians the shaft?!?

Have you tried calling them about the screen options? Maybe their website simply hasn't been updated (it happened on the Lenovo website in Finland recently).

Regarding the higher price for Canada, you can probably file a complaint in some Canadian court. It's a hassle, but might be worth it especially if you find a consumer association that files numerous complaints like that together.

It's not just Canada. Dell UK website also has limited options (eg no backlit keyboard). This can be fixed by phoning up (but first decide your configuration - it's easy to overlook something while on the phone) and you also have the chance to haggle for a discount or some free / low cost extras.
