Hi,

ordered a Vostro 1710 on 07/18 via Phone, sales rep said (and status email confirmed it later...) that the est. shipping date would be 08/18, so exactly one month.

Asked a colleague from tech support to setup an interim laptop for my purposes (a Thinkpad T42p - which took him quite long because auf some XP driver issues...)

Today (07/22) I received a UPS tracking number, laptop should be in the office tomorrow. Had I known that, I wouldn't have asked the colleague for an interim solution :-(

On the one hand it's nice that they are quicker than expected. On the other hand: I never had a more inaccurate est shipping date...
