While trying to troubleshoot some of the other issues with my Dell Latitude E6500, I've been running without most of the Dell-proprietary drivers, etc.

I'm looking at installing some of them again, including the "Dell Security Device Driver Pack" (DELL_CONTROLPOINT-SECURITY-M_A07_R206123.EXE). While it allows for selection of the various sub-features, none of them include descriptions.

The "Microsoft .NET Framework Patch for Vista" has me particularly curious / concerned, and searching hasn't shown me any answers. Does anyone have any idea on what is being "patched"?

After some digging into the extracted files, it seems that it's adding a security certificate for something...
