I am an happy Dell Precision M6800 owner

I am using it mostly for software development - so most of the installed applications - their graphic settings are assigned to run in "Power Saving" mode - which, as I understand, to use the integrated graphic card.

I installed a shooting game (Counter-Strike Global Offensive) and put its graphic settings to "High Performance"

Only if I run in "High Performance" mode - after about 5 minutes of playing - the fans (graphic card? CPU?) start working in full speed.

    Is that normal?

    Dell Precision M6800 - i7 4800MQ + AMD FirePro M6100

    Thanks for any help. Alon

My M6700 does this --- in "high performance" mode, when gaming, the fans come on strong. I don't mind, its just doing its job and keeping the system cool under load. I just use headphones.

If it bugs you, you can try changing the "Thermal Management" setting in Dell Power Manager to "Quiet". This will keep the fans from coming on so much but also put a cap on the max CPU speed (and maybe GPU speed as well).

Are you using the internal LCD or a 60 Hz external one? Then there's no need for full GPU usage. Try enabling VSync or limiting the FPS to around 60 with Nvidia Inspector - if the game is not demanding (and I suppose Counter Strike surely is not that demanding), the GPU usage will go down and fans will not go to full speed hopefully.

Edit: Sorry, you have an AMD card, not sure how to limit the FPS via a driver setting; try using the VSync in the game.
