    Try this:
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/del...0712-m6600-owners-thread-524.html#post8864657

From that post on, in there somewhere, another poster put in some screenshots for assistance - but it is pretty simple to stop once you understand what is happening.

Edit: @tdodd subsequent posts are very helpful about premiere color application behaviors. @rQcreative also has some good screenshots (mentioned above I was able to find), go here see 4 sequential posts.

Oh and there is a help page that can be reached by clicking help in the application, lots of different settings for work habits :)

For my needs sRGB suits all use cases and I don't bother with application profiles at all. 100% is also far too bright for day to day (and evening/night) use so I have set up a profile with sRGB gamut at 30% brightness which loads at boot. It can be overriden using the normal brightness controls and will remain that way until I reboot or make a further change manually.

When the M6700 ships, the swappable drive is secured with 4 screws. The eject button is also secured with 1 screw.

The first time you want to start swapping it -
    Pull the Battery
Remove the single screw in the latch to the left of the battery compartment.
Remove the two screws to remove the bottom cover.
Remove slide the cover up, and remove.
Remove the 4 screws securing the HDD.
Slide the Eject tab and the drive pops out.
Put the bottom cover back on
Put the 2 screws that secure the cover back in place.
Place the 5 screws that secure the HDD in a safe place in case you ever need them again.

    Every time afterward,
    Remove the battery.
    Slide the eject tab.

The whole process of removing the screws the first time should take no more than a minute or two.

My guess is that some customers wanted to have the drive secured in place so that there would be no chance of having the drive accidentally eject.

Once you have removed it the first time, it takes 10 seconds to eject the drive.

The ejectable tray itself requires no tools and has no screws.

    Thanks for the detailed response!

Just recapping: Are you saying the swappable drive is still SECURE once the screws are removed? If that is the case, then I can continue use as normal!

    Merry Christmas!

Yes, this way is even better than using the application menue, because this way the control-buttons stay where you set them, and with applications not disabled, they don't. Thanks!

Update: AND it solved the problem with black screens after switching to Windows Classic Design. You made my day!

Correct. The eject button holds the drive in place. It is made of metal as well as the drive tray / caddy. There are springs in the machine with rubber balls inside of them to not only eject the tray, but also provide shock absorption. I have used the system on the M6600 and M6700 for 18+ months without the 5 safety screws and have never had a drive pop out - unless I wanted it to by hitting the eject button.

    Shane -

A few pics might help here.

Here are the locations of the screws you will deal with to unlock the removable drive. You can see the HDD related screws that you will remove and not replace in green. The two screws to remove the bottom panel are in yellow.

Once the screws in green are removed, you will be able to eject the drive by hitting the Eject Button / Latch. You do NOT have to put the green screws back in place. You also will NOT have to remove the Yellow bottom panel screws to eject the drive. Just hit the battery eject button, and then the drive eject. Simple.

Here is a close-up shot of the eject button. It is metal and spring loaded. It is very solid.

Here is the spring that ejects the drive caddy. As you can see, it has a small rubber ball to cushion the drive when you put the tray in.

Thanks for taking the time to SHOW the details! I am looking forward to getting the machine and being able to swap out my "shared" drive will make my life a lot easier!

I would like to know if hardware caliration is possible in this machine. If possible, with which tool and software, (i come from desktop era,eizo,i1 2, color navigator)
Otherwise, is its own software enough for accurate color?
    Thank you in advance!
