You can consider mine freely give for prosperity.
I fully intend to utilize the 3D capability of Quadro. However, due to the percent use and limitation of choices, I would chose to order my laptop with the higher quality screen and connect up a 3D screen as an accessory.

    Hello everyone!

I have something unfortunate: I have enabled UEFI with intention to boot up and get widows 8 installed. Only to discover that... machine doesn't respond anymore. I can't boot from dvd and can't access setup. Screen ain't turning on. Bummer :(

UPDATE: D+POWER button results in screen flashing, so it is definitely a BIOS issue. Well, issue is mine, of course.

UPDATE2: Solved. Didn't expect myself to get into the beast's gut so early :D.

I received my M6700 last friday, after my order was canceled 5 times...

I noticed a couple of things while checking out my laptop:

    1. I ordered the M6700 with the Dell Wireless 380 Bluetooth Card. In Windows 8, the bluetooth adapter is listed in the Device Manager and seems to be working correctly, i.e. I'm able to connect my mobile phone and copy some pictures from it. However, when I go into the info page of the BIOS, it shows "Bluetooth device: {None}".

    2. When I run ePSA (F12 at startup -> Diagnosis), an error is displayed stating "LCD panel - Unable to modify brightness" (error code 2000-0322). In Windows 8, I'm able to adjust the screen brightness, either through Device Settings or pressing Fn+Up/Down. Also, when I boot from a bootable CD, I'm able to adjust the screen brightness using Fn+Up/Down.

Are these issues caused by the current BIOS version? My M6700 came with BIOS version A06 installed.

Can anyone check if they have the same issues?

    Edit:
I'm not able to adjust the screen brightness in ePSA (by pressing Fn+Up/Down), so I guess the second issue is a bug in ePSA.

Bluetooth is also listed as 'Not installed' in ePSA.

The docking stations are a deciding factor for me. The Alienware can't dock, is heavier, and to be honest I would not want to take it to a meeting unless I worked for a gaming or entertainment company.

If you get the Quadro K5000M, you can run it at GTX 680M speeds with the NbitOr software. There are no heat issues with running the K5000M faster.

Make sure the docks have 240 watt thin power adapters.

Wait, does not the k5000 have a 15% overclock feature built-in? I remember reading that it could be so overclocked automatically unless OEM prevented it. Dell was suppose to offer no restrictions on this feature. Are you referring additional overclocking beyond on or in lieu of this?

I couldn't get NiBiTor working on the K5000M. Do you have any tips?

I`m still discovering and reinstalling stuff, but noticed a small reddish tint in the lower left corner and bluish tint in the lower right one. Also, the plate around docking slot is scratched a little bit and those insulating thin plastic pads where extra mini cards should go - reaped pretty badly. Is it worth to call in a support for fixing those problems? I would prefer to have a `new` notebook for the money I paid, but sending it back is a bit of a stretch.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Mikhail
P.S. I didn't expect color gamut to be so wild! :) BTW can`t activate 10bits for the FirePro in the amd control panel.

I can confirm that nVidia Inspector works very well. I'm more interested in NiBiTor because it make some interesting changes to the underlying video card BIOS. I've emailed the author and asked him how I can help him get the K5000M supported. Let's see what happens.

The M6700 supports SATA3 (6 Gb/s) on both the primary and secondary HDD slots. Only the mSATA slot is SATA2 (3 Gb/s).
